Boeing opens IMM regional centre in Singapore
AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
In Singapore, aircraft manufacturer Boeing Co (NYSE: BA) has opened a new Integrated Materials Management (IMM) Asia Regional Center.
The company said its Integrated Materials Management assists in maintaining and managing an airline’s spare parts inventory and provides items to the airline mechanic as needed. The aim is for the IMM team to manage supplier-owned inventory at airline maintenance locations, allowing for a reduction in inventory holding as well as other supply-chain management costs for individual airlines.
The Asia Regional Center will reportedly be based at Schenker Singapore’s Megahub facility in the Airport Logistics Park of Singapore (ALPS).
