Boeing and LCAL announce order for six Dreamliners

The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) has received an order from LCAL (Low-Cost Aircraft Leasing) for six 787-8 Dreamliners.

Boeing predicts need for 900 aircraft in Middle East over two decades

The Middle Eastern airline industry will require 900 new aircraft to meet the growth in the industry over the next 20 years, according to Boeing.

The aircraft manufacturer has said that the airline industry is expected to grow by 5.5% annually in the Middle East over the next 20 years, creating a need for 900 new aircraft for the airlines in the region to cope with the growth.

Boeing and Emirates concludes negotiations for firm order for 42 aircraft

The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) and Emirates have concluded contract negotiations for a firm order for 42 Boeing 777 aircraft.

The order also includes purchase rights for 20 additional aircraft. The contract was announced by Emirates chairman H H Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum at the Dubai Air Show and is valued at USD9.7bn at list prices.

The airline’s order is for 24 Boeing 777-300ERs, 10 777-200LR Worldliners and eight 777 Freighters, with the first aircraft scheduled for delivery in 2007.
