Buying Boeing
Boeing operates nine retail stores, including the one at 410 W. Washington in Chicago.
It’s no surprise that the store features model airplane kits, but it also sells toys, handbags, golf balls, travel accessories, child- size bomber jackets and jewelry made from spare airplane parts.
Prices vary widely, with a 24-inch upright luggage carry-on ranging from $79 for a Skyway model to $335 for the high-end Swiss Guard version.

Boeing intends to make the store relevant to Chicago by publicizing it at events such as the Air and Water Show, and by creating educational programs with groups such as the Tuskegee Airmen.
“We want to expand our stores to look outward,” said Fritz Johnston, director of brand management and corporate identity for Boeing.
One possibility is to set up Boeing retail stores or kiosks in airports, Johnston said.
However, a longer-range consideration is to close the stores and point everyone to the e-commerce site at www. boeingstore.com.
