About the Author

Currently a full-time instructor and CAD department coordinator at De Anza College in Cupertino, California, Louis Gary Lamit also owns and operates a consulting firm, Lamit and Associates. Since 1966, he has worked as a drafter, designer, numerical control (NC) programmer, technical illustrator, and engineer in the automotive, aircraft, and piping industries and in education. Lamit received a B.S. from Western Michigan University and did masters work at Wayne State University and Michigan State University. He has also done graduate work at the University of California at Berkeley and holds a NC programming certificate from Boeing Aircraft. Lamit has taught engineering graphics and CAD at all levels, including junior high through university. He has authored more than 30 textbooks and trade publications.
